We have over 30 years experience in application development, both client-server and web-based, in database design, development, conversion and migration, and in computer hardware support.

Project: Information Assurance Support
Contract: FBI
Vigilant Services provides Information Assurance support for the FBI's Information Assurance Section which includes:
- assisting in providing a secure investigative information system that directly supports the FBI's mission
- providing Certification and Accreditation Support, analyzing portions of the FBI's system security in the context of the FBI's investigative environment and operational requirements and providing practical solutions to its needs
- system certification, information assurance consulting, network security consulting, network and application security assessment, network vulnerability and certification testing
- deliverables include: contingency plans; risk assessments; System Security Authorization Agreements; Network Security Plan; reports of site inspections; architecture and configuration reviews; test results of each system or application certification tested.
Project: Information Technology Omnibus Procurement (ITOP) Database Administration and Professional Services
Contract: Aberdeen Proving Ground
Vigilant Services provides SQL Server administration in support of the APG ITOP. Including:
- daily maintenance and management/administration of 15+ SQL 7.0 database servers, backup and restoration of databases from transaction logs and tapes, restoring SQL database from an upgraded NT 4.0 to Win2K operating system, and SQL query language and SQL security
- SQL scripting and data extraction for Access and web applications.
Project: Technical Support
Contract: Command Operations Center (COC)
Vigilant Services maintains the computer hardware used in the COC and also:
- identifies hardware and software problems and initiates corrective action, provides application help desk assistance to users
- maintains the serviceability of the specialized equipment in the Command Conference Room. Monitors AMC's receipt and distribution of specialized communications equipment such as STE's
- provides user training on this equipment to command personnel
- troubleshoots maintenance problems
- manages the application of upgrades
- develops, designs and performs feasibility studies and functional analyses
- determines and designs alternative strategies
- develops and monitors tests, and assists in the implementation of solutions.
Contract: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
Vigilant Services provided programming and database and applications development in support to all Department of Transportation organizations and other Federal Agencies.
- Succeeded with development of hierarchical and relational database structures writing database applications and objects in Visual Basic and C++ using ODBC to compile relational databases in SQL
- Produced GUI screens, performed data migrations, and conversions of the IAP-PTP Maintenance System supporting aircraft flight control patterns
- Developed applications based on hierarchical data, used dynamic SQL statements to search NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) hierarchical database tables
- Provided and tested templates for database maintenance, job scheduling, the next screen flow, and others related to the IAP-PTP Maintenance Application.
Project: Intranet Support
Contract: Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI)
The project develops and implements standard information systems topology and network architecture for approximately 350,000 Navy and Marine Corps desktop computing workstations and includes the establishment and operation of Regional NOCs with both classified and unclassified network centers. Project teams travel to approximately 305 military installations in support of the NMCI engineering effort. General functions and support skills provided include:
- personnel security processing and management
- visit authorization letter submissions and updates
- travel planning and reservation support
- monthly project report submission
- project management support.
Project: Database Design and Development Support
Contract: Various
Vigilant Services provides application and database design and development enhancements, error correction, database administration, including:
- Oracle upgrades
- database monitoring
- fine-tuning
- backup and recovery
- system migration and conversion
- Designed and developed client server applications using Visual Basic and Oracle Developer 2000
- Provided Sun Solaris/UNIX administration, including hardware and software support including NIS+ and NFS.
Project: Database Conversion Support
Contract: Various
Vigilant Services assisted in the conversion of Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle to DB2 Universal Database and DB2 OS/390. Using SQL conversion tools running on Microsoft Win32 platforms migrate database structures and application code to DB2. Platforms supported include UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HPUX), NT and OS/390.
